Dinosaurs, a collective name for a group of reptiles that appeared during the Mesozoic period (Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous), are mostly described by their athletic limbs, long tails and large bodies. They mainly inhabited forested or open areas on lakeshore plains (or coastal plains).

In 1841, British scientist Richard Owen, while studying several fossilized lizard-like bones, thought they were left behind by some prehistoric animal and named them dinosaurs, which means "horrible lizards". The chances of finding fossils are very low, and the older they are, the less likely they are to be found.

Regarding the evolution of dinosaurs, it is now at the stage of conjecture because of the lack of sufficient evidence.

Most paleontologists believe that they evolved directly or indirectly from early or middle Triassic ancestor dinosaurs. One group of scholars is convinced that the three orders of dinosaurs shared a common ancestral type and evolved from a single group of sauropods. The other school claims that dinosaurs evolved from early or middle Triassic trough-dentates into two lineage families. Scientists propose that the earliest ancestors apparently lived in the highlands and were small, medium-sized carnivores. These zooxanthellae developed different postures in order to run and move more agilely to catch prey. This also gave them a chance to grow into large predators. When such predators improve their movement behavior by developing an upright posture with their limbs directly underneath their carapace, they have the potential to run fast. These developments are projected to have been completed in the early Middle Triassic.

Another view is that the common ancestor of dinosaurs and extant reptiles was a small lizard-like animal whose descendants clearly split into two branches, a true lizard that continued to eat bugs, and a semi-aquatic early type of primordial dragon. The latter, the early type of Primorosaurus, is more reliably related to the dinosaurs. What did Haptosaurus look like then? Let's take a look at its representative, Phytosaurus. Phytosaurs were carnivores like crocodiles, and their relatives also evolved into phytophagous animals, but whether they were meat-eaters or vegetarians, the early primordial dragons had bony armor on their bodies and trailed a thick and powerful tail behind them, which could play the role of a pusher in the Aqua Pool.

In order to improve the speed of paddling, the primordial dragon at that time also further changed the structure of the body, the hind limbs grew and thickened to become a propeller in the water. Gradually, the legs moved below the body. The change in the position of the legs and the lengthening of the hind legs were very important for this type of animal to gain a survival advantage. Later, the climate became drier, these animals were forced to move to live on land, feeling that the length of the four legs walking unevenly is particularly awkward, so the two hind legs to walk. Long and thick tail at this time just to play a role in balancing the weight of the front of the body. As a result of the change in stance, their stride length increased and their movement speed was much higher, a crucial step in the evolution of dinosaurs.

The sudden disappearance of all dinosaurs at the end of the Cretaceous period 65 million years ago has become a mystery in the history of biological evolution on Earth, a mystery that no one has been able to solve yet. The creatures of Earth's past are recorded in fossils. Many fossils of dinosaurs have been found in the strata of the Mesozoic. Among them can be seen a large number or various shapes of bones. However, in the Cenozoic strata immediately afterwards, no fossils of non-avian dinosaurs can be seen, so it is assumed that non-avian dinosaurs became extinct together in the Mesozoic, and only birds remain today.

Although now we can only see the dinosaurs from films and books, but do not worry, you can buy realistic dinosaur sculptures and costumes, carefully study, imagine their lives in ancient times. We also sell dinosaur riding toys, which you are welcome to buy for your children to bring them an unforgettable childhood.
